I recently saw the last movie of the Harry Potter series with my son. It was great fun, it also got me curious about the various special effects used in the movie. I was reading up on particle systems and playing with Excel when I saw the "glow" feature included in Excel 2010 charts. It gave me a nice idea and I came up with this toy that creates a nice lightning effect with sound using Excel 2010 and a short macro.

How to use

The zip file contains an Excel file and a wav file, extract them into a folder. Open the Excel file, enable the macros and click on the wand to see the lightning and sound effects. See video below.
