How to use the tool

The usage is best illustrated with an example:

Suppose you want to integrate the equation y = esin(x) from x = 0 to x = 10. The constant of integration (value of the integral at x=0) is 1. To do this using the Function Analysis tool, proceed as follows:

Example entry

1. Key in '=exp(sin(x))' into cell B5. The equal to sign is required. If done correctly, cell B5 will show the value of the function at the minimum value of x.

2. Key in the min and max values of x (0 and 10) into cells B8 and B9 respectively.

3. Key in the constant of integration (1) into cell B11.

If done correctly, you should see this screen. The value of the integral can be seen from the integral graph. The exact value (15.60) can be obtained by placing the mouse at the last point on the graph.
