Sorting Data by rows

Most of the time, spreadsheet data is arranged in columns. There are however, occassions when the data is arranged in rows. In Excel, it is possible to sort data by either rows or columns.

The default setting for sorting is by columns. When the user selects Data -> Sort, the following window is seen.

To sort by rows, click on Options and change the orientation to "Sort left to right" in the window that appears and click OK.

The setting for sorting is now by rows.
